For the past month, VIA staff have been working to put in place the facilities upgrades, the social distancing cues, the cleaning and disinfection guidelines, and the extensive staff training, to successfully and safely resume in-person services for students at the James C. Hormel School.
“This is a big step for our families,” said VIA President Dr. Ethan Long. “Many of them have been facing severe challenges under closure. Our staff has done a phenomenal job delivering services remotely, but for many students there is no substitute for intensive, engaged, in-person learning. Our mission is service, but our focus is on everyone’s safety — and we’re very excited to be re-opening our doors to students again.”
