The Chairman of the House of Delegates Education Committee, Steven Landes (R-Weyers Cave) visited VIA on Tuesday, August 21st. The visit provided opportunity to discuss the challenges presented by the rising incidence of autism, and for the Delegate to learn first-hand how VIA works with our public school partners to strengthen education and service delivery for families all across our region.
The visit was covered by two local news stations.
“We’re grateful that Delegate Landes was interested in learning more about VIA and our mission,” said Executive Director, Dr. Ethan Long. “The rise in autism in Virginia’s public schools is an escalating crisis. We’re excited to share our work and our vision of comprehensive services that deliver real results for the families we serve.”
Del. Landes represents the 25th House District, which includes parts of Albemarle, Augusta, and Rockingham Counties. He is currently serving his twelfth term in the Virginia House of Delegates.
