In this month’s spotlight is one of our most accomplished and dedicated staff members. Lauren Haskins has been with VIA for 10 years. She came to us from George Mason University, where she received her Master’s in Special Education and completed her Behavior Analyst coursework. She earned her undergraduate degree at UVA in Psychology and Cognitive Science (and she also interned at VIA during that time). In 2007, she joined VIA as an Instructor. JCH School families will know Lauren from her most recent position as Classroom 6 Supervisor. In September she moved into her new position as VIA’s Quality Improvement Manager.
As the Quality Improvement Manager, Lauren will spend her time coordinating and delivering staff training across the organization, providing clinical support, assisting with clinical research protocols, and conducting parent training programs for our Strengthening Families Initiatives. “I’m excited to have some new challenges to work towards,” say Lauren: “I look forward to organizing behavioral protocols and teaching protocols, as well as being involved in the research we are doing with UVA.” She is also glad that the new position will allow her to continue to provide clinical support directly to our staff and clients.
“Both staff and parent training are essential keys to VIA’s programs,” says VIA’s Executive Director Ethan Long. “We are fortunate to have someone with Lauren’s talent and expertise managing and conducting those critical aspects of our programs.”
Thanks Lauren, and congratulations on the new gig!
