Pathways Summer Camp

August 17, 2015 | Programs

VIA Pathways Summer Camp Program met the week of Aug 3-7. This was the camp’s fourth year.

The Pathway’s Summer Camp is a day camp for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related social challenges ages 9-13 years old. The goal of the camp is to teach children to better understand and respond to social situations through role plays, group discussions, sports, and other interactive games — and have fun with other kids like themselves.

The theme of this year’s camp was teamwork. Throughout all of the activities at camp, collaboration and working together was highlighted and reinforced.

This year the campers did a variety of events and activities, including bowling, rock climbing, tie dying, and sports and games. The final day of camp culminated with a party for campers and their families. The party included ice cream sundaes and a giant water slide!
