Donor Spotlight: Remembering William Sherman

November 2, 2017 | Support

The Sherman family has been with VIA since our very beginning. Blair (pictured at left with his father Woody and step-mother Deborah) was in VIA’s first class of four students. And he is with us today as a client in our Adult Services program. We were saddened to learn over the summer of the passing of Blair’s grandfather, William Sherman. Bill was a career Foreign Service officer, and an expert on Japanese politics, who served as a key member of the United Nations delegation during the Reagan administration. To VIA, he was a devoted supporter. “Bill’s consistent support for VIA over the years enabled us to grow our programs and expand our reach,” says Executive Director Ethan Long. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Sherman family.”

To carry on William Sherman’s legacy of support, you can make memorial contributions on our donations page, here.
