VIA is proud to announce the three-year renewal of our accreditation by CARF – the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. This is the first time that all three of VIA’s programs – James C. Hormel School, Outpatient Behavioral Services, and Adult Academy — have been reviewed by CARF, and they passed with flying colors.
The reviewers singled out VIA’s commitment to mission, sterling reputation with families and community partners, board and leadership team, and staff training and quality improvement programs. The CARF summary report said of their findings:
- “Provides excellent autism services and demonstrates a true commitment to quality and a willingness to improve services and operations.”
- “Extremely deep commitment to its mission, vision, and values” and a “notable and impressive history and culture.”
- “Excellent rapport and mutual respect” among board and staff
- “The organization is commended for the numerous and excellent partnerships and collaborative efforts that have been developed with companies and organizations throughout the community and service area. The partnership with the University of Virginia and the local medical community are noteworthy.”
Bravo, congratulations, and thanks to everyone at VIA for all the hard work preparing for the review.
