James C. Hormel School
The Virginia Institute of Autism’s James C. Hormel School has a current opening for a full-time Special Education Teacher! We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, talented person who is dedicated to helping people overcome the challenges of autism.
The Classroom Teacher works collaboratively with the BCBA and Clinical Director in achieving the best possible outcomes for the students served and in creating a culture of excellence at the JCH School. This position contributes to student programming by working in partnership with the BCBA for IEP development and implementation, program monitoring, parent and classroom communication, and summarizing student progress for reporting purposes.
Qualifications include a bachelors degree and a valid Virginia Special Education Teaching license (adapted curriculum K-12 or with an endorsement in a specific disability area); one year of experience in the instruction of individuals with autism or related developmental disabilities; valid Virginia driver’s license.
