Elaine joined the VIA board in July of 2016, bringing with her a career-long focus on technology development and implementation. Since 2011, she has served as Chief Information Officer of the CFA Institute, the leading professional organization for the Investment Management industry. There she oversees organization-wide IT infrastructure as well as tech and systems vision and strategy.
Elaine earned her BA at Vassar College, and an MBA from the University of Rochester. Before moving to Charlottesville, she worked for M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY—advancing from entry level, post-college, to become Administrative Vice President of Retail Operations, and, later, Group Vice President of Technology Business Services.
While in Buffalo, Elaine served on the board of the Explore & More Children’s Museum. After moving to Charlottesville, she became as a founding board member of Charlottesville Women in Tech, a group devoted to advancing women in STEM fields. She is committed to supporting the career development of other women in the field, and to deepening the talent pool of tech professionals in the area.
