The Virginia Institute of Autism Outreach Services
- VIA’s library and resource center serves hundreds of families seeking assistance for their children with autism, as well as teachers seeking to expand their understanding of autism and evidence-based approaches to the education of students with autism.
- Shaping the Future, a three-day intensive workshop is offered four to six times per year to individuals looking to develop or enhance intensive behavioral intervention programs. Through this workshop, VIA has taught more than 150 parents and professionals from throughout the Commonwealth the basic principles of ABA as well as methods for effectively integrating these principles into educational programs.
- Internships for undergraduate and graduate students and teachers, ranging in length from one month to one year, provide intensive training and mentorship opportunities.
- Customized training and consulting services are available for public and private school programs and students.
- Home-based ABA programs for young children include assessment, program development, training and program supervision for toddlers and preschoolers.
